From our good friends in Hawaii :

Of all the west coast Kohanaiki is the biggest swell magnet and probably our most reliable surf break. Depending on swell direction there’s at least 6 peaks before the end of the road. The fact that its such a bumpy off road with often deep sand streeks really helps to keep the crowd down ! Once you make it past the third gate and security rover your almost there. But at least once a month we’re towing someone out of the sand (see attached) At one end of this dreamy wave haven you might find Shane Dorian pushing his 4 year into shapely crumblers and then in the same panorama there’s Bonga Perkins getting shacked on his longboard.

What’s funny about this particular day is the photographer has to get his fill of waves before setting up to shoot; so you can only imagine what it’s like at dawn… These 10 o’clock shots are just a glimpse of the happily ever after at Kohanaiki.
