All-Around Perfection

Dave Kalama’s ultimate all-around design, the Recruit is the
most stable and versatile planning hull on the market that still
surfs like a performance board if you have the skills. Big claim we
know, but trust us, Dave has spent hundreds of hours (since the
beginning of SUP as we know it) paddling, surfing and building
prototype boards to perfect the Recruit.

The recruit is confidence boosting for flatwater paddling with
generous volume and width through the center to beef up
stability, but really shines in the Surf thanks to its progressive
rocker and thinned out nose and tail. For the less experienced
Surfer or big guys looking for a stable performance Surf shape
the Recruit has you covered. Crocskin full deck pad, comfy-grip
handle, windsurf rig ready and tuf-skin pressure molded Intec
construction makes the Recruit a great all-around board.

All epoxy boards at Imagine Surf are built at Cobra, the industries most respected and leading board builder. The 2014 Recruit is built using our vacuum molded Intec construction. We use a pressure fused heat sealed lightweight EPS foam core which is laminated and pressure molded to the exact dimensions of Dave Kalama’s design. We use a combination of glass layers top and bottom and wood in the standing area. Additional layers of glass are added to the rails and in the standing area to provide additional strength in the high impact areas.
