who we are

IMAGINE…what does this word mean in our paddle boarding company… Well when we started Imagine Surf in 2006, we were a handful of paddlers and surfers that wanted to continue to live a lifestyle of fun and adventure. Dawn patrol surfs and sunset bonfires. Epic river trips with friends and fun coastal runs with family. Exciting fishing missions and crossing the finishing line excited. Weekends of escape from the grind and weeks filled with daily escape. The possibilities of where Stand Up Paddleboarding could take us was only limited by our Imagination. So we used our imagination and dreamed big! The dream came true and Imagine has now grown up to be a paddle board company that represents fun and authenticity on and off the water. From the first design sketch to the showroom floor we do our best to ensure each board we build allows us to share this dream and Lifestyle.

Paddleboarding is all we do. Our boards are not just things we sell to make a living, they are a part of us. We all paddle and share a common philosophy to make Paddleboarding accessible. Our tag line "We make Paddleboarders" is the cornerstone of this philosophy. This is reflected in every board we build from affordable durable entry level construction and designs to the highest end surf and racing shapes. We are very fortunate to have a true Iconic Waterman, SUP pioneer and board designer Dave Kalama as an integral part of our team ensuring each Imagine board is designed, tested and proven before we put it into production.

For 2015 we have once again built a balanced line of versatile, affordable, durable and great performance boards. Boards that you will be proud to own. Wether you are purchasing your first board or are a seasoned paddler, the journey so far has been an adventure but trust us… if you use your Imagination it has only just begun.

See you on the water…

How can you trust your equipment if your designer doesn’t know how to use the products they design? Fortunately for us, our head designer also happens to be the guy who helped start it all. Dave Kalama certainly needs no introduction, but for those who may not be aware, he reintroduced stand up paddleboarding to the masses in the mid 90’s with good friend Laird.

Dave is a Hawaiian waterman who comes from a lineage of surfing and paddling champions. He has been at the start of it all. Professional windsurfing, pioneering big wave tow surfing, and stand up paddleboarding. Designing his own equipment in each of these disciplines has given Dave a wealth of experience that is built into each product Imagine makes.

If you are ever fortunate enough to attend one of Dave’s Kalama Kamps, you will have the chance to rub shoulders with one of our sports true legends, and witness the level of expertise, information and passion he brings to the world of standup paddleboarding and Imagine Surf.

Polyethylene expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity, both during the molding process, and afterwards in the field. Actual dimensions can vary from those shown in the specifications chart during the molding process and/or exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Because of the blow molding process, some variation from these numbers is normal. These variations are not covered by the warranty.

Polyethylene boards can deform in even mild heat if pressure is applied to the hull. Changes in rocker - "drooping" from being stored on its hull, or "banana-ing" from being stored upside down, or denting from sitting on a hard object are all possible, and are not covered by warranty. Any opening into the board, such as hatches and drain plugs, need to be maintained. Gaskets and silicon seals wear over time, including the time between when the board was originally made, and its first use, and should be checked. Imagine is not responsible for the maintenance of any seals, and these are not covered by the warranty.

Imagine reserves the right to change any models, including the addition or removal of any model, or changing of the dimensions and manufacturing specifications, without any obligation to upgrade any existing boards on the market.

At Imagine Surf, we stand behind our products. All Imagine boards are warrantied for a period of one year against defects in manufacturing to the original owner. All Imagine paddles and accessories are warrantied for 30 days and fiberglass boards for 30 days against defects in manufacturing.
